university decision

After i went to visit the university in rocherster for fashion promotional design i realized it wasent what i wanted to do as all the work i have done was nothing to do with the course that i choose. so i didnt get in but then i had another interview for HND Graphic design and it went really well and i got an offer on Ucas and excepted the offer so i could get a place. I felt it was the right decision as i dont want to go to far for uni and canterbury is the perfect place to do it as its nice.

The Show

Every year the 2nd years have an end of years show where their best pieces of work are put up for display for the general public. This year the show was put up in the oil painting room which was at the time in very poor condition. So all the 2nd years had to tidy up and paint the room and clean all the floors. i came in during the holidays to help out i wipe down the floors painted the walls. it wasent easy it was quite hard but in the end it was worth it. I will post up the pictures later on as the website isnt working at the moment and wont upload my photos.

My Website

We had to create a website for our art work and designs here is a few screen shots of the website i have been been working on i was inspired by the really old vintage stuff like the books, stamps, letters, badges , leafs bascially things that look old and vintage like. For the background of my website i used a old book and scanned it in then i place all theese things onto it and created the hompage ect ....

Final Major Project-FMP: Rimmel Adverts

For my final major project i decided to do Rimmel Adverts i choose to do this beacause i love Makeup
and the adverts that they advertise for them. I decided to do my Rimmel adverts in a a style of a 60's theme.
I chose this because i done a crit in my class and asked them to choose what style to do it in and it was ethier the 80's or the 60's and in the end they choose the 60's theme.

I quite like the style of theese image simple they almost look vintage i like the old effect of the picture and the style of there clothes,hair and makeup.

Here is some pictures that i took of myself in a style of a 60's theme i think they turned out okay but i wouldnt really say there that 60's looking. I then went onto designing my posters and getting some idea

         Here is a few of the final posters i done i think they were okay but i wasen't really happy with the outcomes beacuse they dont really look like in the style of the 60's i could of change the colour or changed the font into something retro and mabey have a pattern in the background that represents the 60's theme however i think it turned out okay i didnt really enjoy this project that much has it dragged onto long and soon i got rather bored of doing stuff with makeup but overall i think the project was a good expierence.

My Type poster

  These where some of the Designs that i recreated for the book The New vintage typeface i personally think it turned out quite well to be honest. I like the vintage look to it. I done the background by tea staining which give it the faded dirty look. Then for the brown bits at the bottom i used tea from the tea bag to create it. Then i cut out a piece of material and placed it in the middle and then i manipulated the text onto the poster using photoshop.
